Description

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES

The course is designed to assist nephrologists and renal pathologists (including nephrology and renal pathology trainees) in diagnosing and managing the most common forms of medical renal disease, including diseases that target the glomerulus, tubules, interstitium, and blood vessels.

The activity will span three days and include lectures covering the following content areas: Nephrotic syndrome, Nephritic syndrome, Genetics, Tubulointerstitial, Vascular Disease, Transplant & Dysproteinemia. These lectures will be delivered live in front of an audience but also streamed simultaneously for virtual participants; all participants will have access to these lectures for 3 months after the conference.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better able to

  • Identify the role of complement in the pathophysiology of glomerular diseases and how novel complement-targeting therapies can fit into treatment patterns.
  • Enhance diagnostic suspicion for a genetically mediated form of glomerular disease and facilitate rapid referral for genetic testing.
  • Assess which patients would benefit from repeat biopsies in the management of their glomerular diseases.
