1. Our Policy
Medicine.ac respects intellectual property rights and complies with 17 U.S.C. § 512 (the DMCA). Upon receiving a valid notice, we will promptly investigate and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to allegedly infringing material and/or links.
2. How to Submit a DMCA Takedown Notice
If you believe that content available through Medicine.ac infringes your copyright, please send a written notice that includes all of the following:
- Signature: A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Work Identified: Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list).
- Location of Material: Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing (e.g., exact URL(s) on Medicine.ac and, if applicable, any referenced file names or IDs).
- Contact Info: Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- Good-Faith Statement: “I have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.”
- Accuracy & Authority Statement: “The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.”
Incomplete notices may be delayed or rejected until all required elements are provided.
3. How to Submit a Counter-Notice
If your content was removed under the DMCA and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you are authorized to use the material, you may send a counter-notice containing:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before it was removed or disabled.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if outside the U.S., for any judicial district in which the service provider may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or their agent.
Upon receiving a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material within 10–14 business days unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain the alleged infringement.
4. Repeat Infringer Policy
Where applicable, Medicine.ac may terminate access for users who are deemed repeat infringers. We also reserve the right to remove content and disable links at our discretion to protect intellectual property rights.
5. Important Disclaimers
- Accuracy of Claims: Submitting false or misleading DMCA notices or counter-notices may result in legal liability, including costs and attorney’s fees.
- Hosting & Delivery: Our platform provides access to educational materials and may reference or deliver content via third-party cloud services (e.g., Google Drive). We will act on valid notices related to content accessible through Medicine.ac (including listings, metadata, or links).
- Response Time: We generally respond within 1–2 business days after receiving a complete notice.
