The course is suitable for practicing interventional radiologists who want to refresh and enhance their skills, as well as for interventionalists who look to prepare for the IR Certifying Oral Exam. There will be multiple opportunities for informal discussions between faculty and attendees.
Objectives
At the completion of this course, the attendee will be able to:
- Improve technique in arterial and venous interventions;
- Understand the scope of interventional oncology procedures;
- Describe indications and recommend techniques for gastrointestinal and genitourinary tract interventions;
- Know the benefits and limitations in selecting IR devices (balloons, stents, catheters, etc);
- Correctly interpret CT, MR, US, and angiographic vascular images;
- Understand the scope of Neurointerventional and Musculoskeletal interventions;
- Identify potential pitfalls and safety issues associated with IR procedures in order to minimize complications.
